Dash is a 3 year old neutered male border collie mix. He is a high energy dog who loves to play active games with people, he LOVE LOVE LOVES to play ball or chase sticks. He is up to date on shots. Does not do well with cats, and has inconsistent behavior with other dogs.

Red is a two year old neutered male, hound mix. He is very talkative and has a lovely singing voice. He adores time with people, proudly showing off his stuffed pheasant to anyone passing by, in the hopes of getting a little play time. He will thread himself between your legs if you let him, anything for a little cuddle time and attention. He is good with other dogs, but we are uncertain about him with cats.

Millie is the sweetest. A two year old Anatolian Shepherd and Akbash mix. She is very shy when she is getting to know new people, and has not shown a great deal of interest in other dogs, though she gets along with them fine. She is absolutely a gentle giant.

Jolie can be a somewhat aloof young lady, but she's still just getting to know us. She seems to do great with other dogs, and is kind to people though is a leash puller, and a fairly strong one. She loves time outside!

Brad Pitt is the classic sweet-as-pie pit bull. He knows a few commands and is mostly very polite and kind. He jumps up when he gets excited, but seems he would be easily trained out of that behavior. He is strong but not too big, and does very well with other dogs. (Better pictures coming soon! But don't miss out, he's adorable!)

Kida is a beautiful female husky. She is incredibly sweet and friendly with people, but not good with other dogs. She is also high energy and bit of a jumper! She will need some good exercise on a regular basis.

Indiana Jones is a handsome, 10-month-old neutered male. He is likely a combination of Rottweiler, Shephard, Bernese Mountain Dog, and Lab. He is an incredibly charismatic and energetic young man with loads of love to give. He does well with other dogs, though he is perhaps a bit too excited around cats. Indy has come a long way since his very rough beginnings, but can still become very anxious and somewhat reactive when he feels unsafe or challenged. He also still has much of his puppy behavior, like jumping up and being mouthy, two behaviors that stand out a bit more on such a big dog. He thrives with daily exercise, as he needs a consistent outlet for his energy. We have been lucky enough to have help from a trainer from the Powder Pals Program to work with Indy, and we have seen immense growth and a clear improvement in Indy’s ability to trust and bond with his human friends. Through that process we have discovered that Indy responds very well to positive reinforcement training (treats!), and does not respond well at all to forced compliance. In the hopes of setting Indy and any potential adopter up for success, we ask that anyone serious about adopting him will first spend a couple of weeks working with Indy and his trainer together, to be sure the foundation is set for successful learning and growth into the future. If you think you might be the right partner for this amazing dog, please submit an application!

Diesel is a 3 year old neutered male, German Shephard and Husky mix. He is a dog in need of an attentive human companion. He would be very sad to be a dog left in the yard all the time, though he loves to run in the open fields with us. And he is also good with other dogs, though he can be easily startled around over excited animals. We are told he does well with kids, though we are uncertain about cats. He often pulls on the leash at first, but with consistent training he is improving. He is a very smart, athletic dog that will need a 6-ft tall fenced yard for regular exercise, though he would not make a good long distance running companion, due to a chronic foot injury. He was crated excessively for the first 3 years of his life, causing poor development of his front ankles/feet. He is very energetic and a beautiful runner, but he will need a thoughtful and balanced amount of exercise so as not to overwork those front legs.
