By typing your name you agree to the following: As a pet owner, you are responsible for the time and money necessary to provide adequate food, proper shelter, medical treatment, and appropriate long-term care for your pet. Should BMHA deem that said animal is NOT receiving adequate care, we reserve the right to rescind your ownership of the animal. You are responsible for obtaining the rabies vaccination for your newly adopted dog, if they are not already current, and return proof of vaccination to Union County Sheriff’s Department within 30 days of adoption to obtain a license, as mandated by Oregon State law and Union County ordinance. The adoption fee paid at the time of adoption is non-refundable. *

Your new animal does not know that you are its new home. It only knows is that once again the environment is different. The different smells, different noises, different people who treat it in different way means Your animal needs TIME to do just that, adjust to everything new in its live.
These new things and your expectations are going to cause your dog some initial stress until it adjusts to its new life.
