Adoption Fees

Dog Adoption Fees

  1. Most dogs at The Animal Shelter cost $108; if you are seeking a specific breed, they may be more expensive, anywhere from $125 to $225; this includes the adoption fee, their spay or neuter, a microchip, and if appropriate a Union County dog license.
  2. Our Distinguished Dogs are seniors as they are harder to place because of age, medical conditions and/or behavior restrictions. Their adoption fee is $67.00.

Cat Adoption Fees

  1. Spayed and neutered cats and kittens cost $22. For cats between the ages of 1-6, a microchip is included at no additional cost.
  2. Senior cats (over 6 years) are $12.00.
  3. All unaltered cats and kittens are $52 for males and $74 for females.

Rabbits, Guinea Pigs & Other Small Animal Adoption Fees

  1. All of our rabbits cost $10.
  2. Most of our other small animals cost $5.  Mice cost $1.

Bird Adoption Fees

  1. Most of our small birds cost $20; however, a few breeds are adopted out in pairs only and cost $15 to $25.
  2. Cockatoos and other large birds cost $100 to $300.
